  OSTEOPOROSIS- Long considered
an affliction of more concern to women
than men is actually a problem for both
sexes. Up until age 18 we amass bone
via our active lifestyles and youth. As
we continue to age, we tend to have
lifestyle changes which can promote
bone loss. Activities like, more driving    than walking, more  elevators than           stairs, too much junk food, too many      soft drinks and too sedentary a life-         style aren't helpful. Couple these with
hormonal changes as we age and we
have a situation for bone loss.
  Thankfully this depletion happens
over an extended period of time and
can be remedied, with proper diet,
exercise, supplementation and timely
intervention.
The effect of muscles pulling on bone
causes a piezoelectric response,
which signals the body to increase the
uptake of essential minerals for bone
production. thus the need for weight
bearing exercises, for lower and upper
body. Without a proper diet to sustain
our physical demands, we cannot
hope to maintain optimal health, this is
where supplementation comes into
play. A good calcium supplement with
the right mix of magnesium, vitamin D,
copper and zinc. Also helpful are; kelp
for trace minerals, Boron for calcium
absorption, phosphorous and silica
to increase bone strength, vitamins K,    C & B complex for bone protein
production and connective tissue
formation. Amino acids L-Lysine &
L-Arginine aid calcium absorption and
connective tissue. Herbs alfalfa, sage&
yucca aid bone formation & retention,
oat straw & horsetail supply silica for
men & women; black cohosh, red           clover and dong quai are for women.

Caffeine, being a stimulant, can mimic or stimulate the release of dopamine, noradrenaline or adrenaline. It also raises blood sugar and over time excessive use of this stimulant can cause some neurotransmitter receptor sites to shut down, while requiring larger doses of the stimulant to acquire the same energizing effect initially achieved.

Thick nails don't just mean nail fungus invasion or age. It          may  reference thyroid or circulatory problems.

Fungal or Bacterial encroachment can appear as a greenish
nail tint; whereas a blue tint may be a harbinger of pulmonary
  problems.

A blueish-reddish discoloration of the white portion of the
nail adjacent to the rear of the cuticle may be due to                     toxification via  heavy metals or heart-lung disease.
