  Traditional Chinese Medicine...part 3
                                                by Matt Manchester
                                                         TCM

In Traditional Chinese Medicine the pulse
flow tells more then the number of beats
and is the key to understanding the actions
of the heart in conjunction with the overall
condition of the body. A few of the many
descriptions of pulses are wiry, flooding,
                                               floating, sinking...etc. These pulses are
                                               environmentally affected and may even
become intermixed, due to imbalances in the
                                               weather.

Lastly, the doctor of oriental medicine will inquire of the patients
lifestyle, life and feelings, in order to determine the possible impact of
  associative physical and mental conditions.

Yin and Yang are not mystical outdated concepts. They can be
applied to all aspects of the human body and condition. Their notion
will never become obsolete or impractical, due to the flexibility Yin
and Yang manifest to remain viable and practical throughout
history. Western thinking isolates different objects while the Eastern
Yin and Yang concept strives to view objects only in their relation to
the whole. The understanding of Yin and Yang is not just for medical
application...it is the way of life.

Studies reported in the journal of neuroscience                                                                      indicate a possible link in the way people use                                                                           their brains and alzheimers onset. It seems                                                                                that the brain areas utilized in youth, to                                                                                      daydream, are the areas which show early                                                                                 normal cognitive function failure as the disease                                                                        progresses.
