   Traditional Chinese Medicine... cont'd
                                          by Matt Manchester
                                                     TCM part 2

Aspects of Yin are cold, dark, lower, passive, night,  feminine, earth and light(as in weight). The aspects of
Yang are hot, sunny, higher, active, day, masculine,
heaven and heavy.
Even human anatomy can have the concepts of Yin
and Yang applied to it. As previously stated, all things
are Yin and Yang but some are considered to be more of one than the other. The fundamental nature of the organs is considered Yin, while the exterior of the body
and its muscular function is Yang.
A persons dietary decisions will also fall under the concepts of Yin and Yang. For instance, an abundance
of sour will cause the liver to become overrun with an
excess of Yang. By balancing one's intake(..sweet/sour
cold/hot..etc) of Yin and Yang foods, we can keep a
healthy balance in our organs.
In TCM, environment as well is described in the terms of Yin and Yang and has a definite influence over the body's blood flow and even the concentration
of blood in different areas of the body, which can lead
to the manifestation of different skin colors.
